The DISCOVERY PREP Mission
Postbaccalaureate Research Education Program
The mission of DISCOVERY PREP is to increase the number of Ph.D. graduates who are underrepresented in the biomedical sciences. To accomplish this mission, we will undertake the following specific aims that will provide the necessary research and career development skills needed to make our students more competitive and resilient.
1) Establish a program that will provide an opportunity for recent baccalaureate-degree graduates from underrepresented groups to obtain the research experience needed to gain admission to, and success in, a competitive and research-intensive biomedical science Ph.D. program.
2) Establish a program that will provide an opportunity for the DISCOVERY PREP students to strengthen professional skills that are needed to survive in a competitive biomedical science Ph.D. program.
